Morning Light on Mt. Kinabalu

I wanted to convey the morning light on Mt. Kinabalu as I saw it while in Malaysia. It’s a breathtaking scene to witness and I hope my painting is able to capture or convey as least a shred of that beauty. I also wanted to show the houses and farms on the hills in front of the mountain, in order to bring scale and also show where people live. It’s amazing to think that people live here in the mountains 6,200 feet up and get to see this view every day. It’s truly an inspiring place and that’s what I hope this painting shows.
