I visited Alaska in 2018, which was really my first painting trip. I barely knew what I was doing with watercolors at the time and it was my first time painting from life using watercolors. But this particular painting is a recent painting and done from photographs I took in a town called Girdwood. I was there for only a day and it rained the whole time unfortunately. It’s known for being a super beautiful place but I didn’t get to see much due to the rain and fog. So this painting depicts the memories of that day.
